Hai-ting!!

After the last post, you're probably hoping for something more easily digested. So here's a video from the Daily Show circa 2004. Oh, and hai-ting means fighting in Korean.

In my personal experience, South Korea is a very safe country. Violent crimes are very rare. Even the State Department says "the crime rate in the Republic of Korea is low." But, even with all this safety-mongering in the air, fist fighting in the streets is a sometimes seen display, usually between inebriated men in suits. So this video makes a lot of sense.

Though I don't know why this fighting occurs, I would conjecture it has something to do with honor. Honor and family name seem to rank in importance near to kimchi, so I would guess this has something to do with it.
